Application Guidelines

Surface Preparation:

Wood must be dry, clean, sanded, and free from dust, oil, or previous failing coatings. For best results, sand surface with 180–220 grit sandpaper.

Application Method:

Apply using a high-quality brush, spray, or roller. Stir thoroughly before use.

Thinning:

Ready-to-use. If necessary, thin with Davies® Polyurethane Reducer (maximum 5–10%).

Drying Time:

• Touch Dry: 2–3 hours
• Recoat: 6–8 hours
• Light Use: 24–48 hours
• Full Cure: 7 days

Sanding:

Lightly sand between coats with fine-grit sandpaper (320–400 grit) to ensure smoothness and better intercoat adhesion.

Coverage:

12–15 square meters per liter per coat (depending on wood type and application method)

Finish:

Super Gloss (DM-1) – Clear, high-sheen finish that enhances wood richness

Topcoat Compatibility:

Can be applied directly over:

Safety & Clean-Up:

• Flammable – keep away from heat, sparks, and open flames
• Apply in well-ventilated areas; wear appropriate PPE
• Avoid inhalation of vapors and contact with skin or eyes
• Clean tools with Davies® Polyurethane Reducer immediately after use
• Store tightly sealed in a cool, dry place
• Keep out of reach of children
