Davies® Hi-Heat Resistant Aluminum Paint DV-472 – High-Temperature Protective Coating for Metal Surfaces

Overview

Davies® Hi-Heat Resistant Aluminum Paint DV-472 is a specialized, high-temperature resistant coating formulated to withstand continuous exposure to heat up to 600°C. This solvent-based, aluminum-pigmented paint is ideal for protecting metal surfaces subjected to extreme temperatures, such as exhaust systems, boilers, chimneys, ovens, kilns, incinerators, and industrial pipes.

The high heat resistance and aluminum flake pigmentation form a durable, reflective, and heat-stable film, making DV-472 the trusted choice for both industrial and commercial applications where standard coatings would fail.

Key Features

  • Heat Resistant up to 600°C – Maintains protection and adhesion at high temperatures
  • Aluminum Pigmented – Reflective finish reduces heat buildup and enhances durability
  • Excellent Adhesion to Metal – Designed for steel, iron, and other metallic substrates
  • Fast-Drying Solvent-Based Formula – Ideal for heavy-duty industrial conditions
  • Resists Peeling, Flaking, and Discoloration – Even under intense heat cycles

Recommended Uses

  • Industrial chimneys and stacks
  • Furnace exteriors and boilers
  • Automotive and truck exhaust systems
  • Machine housings and heat exchangers
  • Incinerators, grills, kilns, and other high-temperature metal equipment

Application Guidelines

Surface Preparation:

Thoroughly clean the surface. Remove all rust, mill scale, oil, grease, and old paint. Use sandblasting or wire brushing for best results. Ensure the surface is dry before painting.

Priming:

Not required unless specified for extreme environments. For maximum performance, apply to a bare, properly prepared metal surface.

Application Methods:

Brush, roller, or spray

Thinning:

Use Davies® Paint Thinner as needed (typically 5–10%) for ease of application

Drying Time:

  • Touch Dry: 1–2 hours
  • Recoat: After 12 hours
  • Heat Curing: Gradual heating recommended for full film performance

Coverage:

10–12 square meters per liter per coat (depending on application and surface condition)

Finish:

Metallic Aluminum / Semi-Gloss

Pack Sizes:

Available in 1L and 4L cans

Color:

Aluminum Silver

Important Notes:

  • Not intended for direct flame contact
  • Full heat resistance is achieved only after the coating has been gradually exposed to operational heat
  • Ensure good ventilation during application and curing

Safety & Clean-Up:

  • Use in a well-ventilated area and wear protective gear
  • Flammable – keep away from open flames and high heat during application
  • Clean tools with Davies® Paint Thinner
  • Store in a tightly sealed container in a cool, dry place
  • Keep out of reach of children
