Davies® Hi-Solids Clear Gloss Lacquer DV-702 is a high-build nitrocellulose lacquer formulated to deliver a brilliant, glass-like gloss finish on wood and previously painted surfaces. This premium-grade clear coat offers superior clarity, fast drying time, and excellent build and flow, making it ideal for wood furniture, cabinetry, doors, and interior wood trims.

Application Guidelines

Surface Preparation:

Ensure surface is clean, dry, and free from dust, wax, grease, or old finishes. Sand surface to smoothness and wipe clean before application.

Application Method:

Spray application is recommended for best results. Can also be applied by brush for smaller projects.

Thinning:

Thin with Davies® Lacquer Thinner as needed (typically 20–30% for spray application)

Drying Time:

  • Dust-Free: 10–15 minutes
  • Touch Dry: 30 minutes
  • Recoat: After 1 hour
  • Sandable: 2 hours
  • Full Cure: 24–48 hours

Sanding:

Use fine-grit sandpaper (e.g., 320–400 grit) between coats for ultra-smooth finish

Coverage:

10–12 square meters per liter per coat (depending on substrate and method)

  • Use in a well-ventilated area or with appropriate PPE

  • Clean tools with Davies® Lacquer Thinner immediately after use
  • Store in tightly sealed containers away from moisture
  • Keep out of reach of children
