Overview

Davies® Keramikote™ Penetrating Sealer is a high-performance, polyurethane-based clear sealer designed to deeply penetrate and protect porous surfaces such as tile, concrete, terracotta, brick, and natural stone. As a key component of the Davies® Keramikote™ Coating System, it enhances surface durability, resists moisture, oil, stains, and chemical spills, while preserving the natural look of the substrate.

This professional-grade penetrating sealer is ideal for residential, commercial, and industrial flooring and wall surfaces, offering long-lasting protection without forming a thick film. It is suitable for both interior and exterior applications and may be topcoated with Keramikote finishes when additional enhancement or protection is needed.

Application Guidelines

System Recommendation:

  1. Surface Preparation: Ensure surface is dry, clean, and absorbent
  2. Sealer Application: Apply Keramikote™ Penetrating Sealer as a primer or standalone finish
  3. Topcoat (Optional): May be finished with Davies® Keramikote™ Topcoat or clear polyurethane for gloss or satin finish

Application Method:

Apply using brush, roller, or low-pressure sprayer. Allow product to fully penetrate surface. Remove excess within 15–20 minutes with clean cloth or mop.

Drying Time:

  • Surface Dry: 1–2 hours
  • Light Traffic: 12–24 hours
  • Full Cure: 5–7 days

Coverage:

10–15 square meters per liter per coat (varies by surface porosity)

Finish:

Natural matte (non-gloss), enhances substrate tone without film

Available in 1L, 4L, and 16L

Color:

Clear (non-yellowing)

Topcoat Compatibility:

  • May be left uncoated for natural look
  • Compatible with Davies® Keramikote™ Finish Coats, clear polyurethane varnishes, or specialty topcoats for added gloss or protection

Safety & Clean-Up:

  • Flammable – keep away from heat and open flames
  • Ensure good ventilation during use
  • Use gloves and eye protection during application
  • Clean tools with Davies® Polyurethane Thinner or appropriate solvent
