Overview

Davies® Megacryl™ Concrete Putty is a high-quality, water-based surface preparation compound designed to fill cracks, surface imperfections, pores, and pinholes on concrete and masonry substrates. It provides a smooth, even finish prior to the application of topcoats—ensuring improved paint appearance, adhesion, and long-term durability.

Formulated with acrylic binders, this putty offers excellent workability, fast drying time, and ease of sanding. It is ideal for use on interior and exterior walls, especially when preparing new or previously painted concrete surfaces for acrylic-based paints like Davies® Megacryl™, Fusion™, or Roofshield™.

Recommended Uses

Application Guidelines

Surface Preparation:

Ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and free from dust, oil, grease, or loose particles. New concrete must be fully cured for at least 28 days.

Application Methods:

Apply with putty knife or trowel. Press firmly into cracks and imperfections. Apply in thin layers for best results.

Number of Coats:

1–2 coats, depending on depth of surface defects. Sand between coats as needed.

Drying Time:

• Touch Dry: 1–2 hours
• Recoat or Sanding: 2–3 hours
• Topcoat Application: After full curing (minimum 6 hours)

Coverage:

6–8 square meters per liter per coat (depending on surface roughness)
