Overview

Davies® Oil-Based Paste Wood Filler DV-25 is a professional-grade, ready-to-use wood filler formulated to fill open wood grains, pores, and small surface imperfections prior to finishing. This natural-toned, oil-based paste is ideal for interior hardwoods like mahogany, narra, oak, or ash, especially where a smooth, furniture-quality finish is desired.

Used primarily in wood finishing systems, this product ensures an even, glass-like finish under stains, sealers, and topcoats by effectively sealing the wood grain and leveling the surface.

Application Guidelines

Surface Preparation:

Ensure surface is clean, dry, sanded (120–180 grit), and dust-free. Apply on bare wood before staining or sealing.

Application Method:

Using a soft cloth, putty knife, or brush, apply a thin layer of Davies® Paste Wood Filler along the grain. Work the filler into the pores and remove excess across the grain using a plastic scraper or cloth.

Drying Time:

• Touch Dry: 1–2 hours
• Sandable: 4–6 hours (depending on temperature and thickness)
• Recoat/Topcoat: After sanding and dust removal

Sanding:

After fully drying, sand smooth with fine-grit sandpaper (e.g., 320–400 grit)

Coverage:

Approximately 10–12 square meters per liter, depending on wood porosity

Finish:

Natural (light beige); accepts stains and clear coats
